Lauren Skora, Co-founder of Bable — Oh Baby

Must Try

Lauren became a published author at 23, first focusing on the fields of fashion, design, and creative direction. However, when she became a mother to her daughter, Frankie, the experience of introducing solids sparked a curiosity in baby nutrition, leading Lauren to study with us at OBN. Using her background in design, writing, and publishing, Lauren co-founded Bable; a digital destination for nutritious, family-friendly recipes and information about starting solids. This was the foundation for writing Baby Food Bible, a valuable resource for families seeking guidance as they approach this transitional phase with their little ones. When reflecting on the value of her OBN education, Lauren explained: The in-depth knowledge I gained from OBN not only equipped me to ensure I was feeding my little one a whole foods diet, rich in all the essential nutrients her little body needs but I’m also able to amplify this knowledge through our platform by sharing her meals, along with tips, tricks and hacks in hopes to inspire other parents. What was the impetus for you changing careers from creative direction to holistic nutrition? Before having kids I was entrepreneurial, running my own creative agency. When I became a mother, I really struggled to get back into the workforce as my job was primarily on set and very hands-on (a baby and these things don’t go hand in hand). I missed design and I missed being creative and using my brain. When it came time to start Frankie on solids, I found it a really confusing space. I decided to pivot and educate myself, this is when I discovered OBN. My newfound knowledge in this space meant I could channel my creative energy into a new realm: baby nutrition. What were the first steps you took to start Bable? How did people react? We created an Instagram page and started (over)sharing everything to do with feeding my baby. The speed at which our audience grew really showed us there is a gap for this much-needed information. We got writing and began creating easy, wholesome and family-friendly recipes and sharing some of them. We were later approached by a well-renowned publisher, and the rest is history.
